A man has been arrested after a fellow climber plunged to his death from a coastal cliff.
A 51-year-old man was airlifted to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough after falling at Kettleness Point, near Runswick Bay, north of Whitby, on Friday.
He as pronounced dead at the hospital.
North Yorkshire Police said a man his 20s, from the Whitby area, had been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
It is believed he was climbing with the man who died.
